The 28th Annual Community Unity Breakfast is held on the commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, to celebrate and expand diversity initiatives in Greenville and Pitt County.

Portia Willis

Young Scholars and Leaders Institute, Co-Founder
Portia C. Willis is a sought-after etiquette coach and motivational speaker. A native of Greenville, NC, she is a wife, mother of two, an entrepreneur and a respected leader in the local community.
Willis has been leading the charge for developing young leaders through a business she co-owns and operates know as Young Scholars and Leaders Institute, LLC. Through her work at Young Scholars and Leaders, she has made significant contributions to K-12 students in the areas of leadership, community, involvement and character development.
Willis pursued a seat on the Greenville City Council because she believes in advocating for smart economic growth, supporting small businesses and protecting our neighborhoods and quality of life. On November 7, 2023, Portia was elected as the first African American woman to hold the At-Large seat on the Greenville City Council.
