The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce was presented the System Wide Volunteer of the Year Award at the annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony that honored outstanding volunteers in Pitt County Schools.

The Chamber was honored with a certificate of appreciation and a plaque, presented by Pitt County Schools. Some of the exceptional programs and services that merit this award are Teen Leadership Institute, Partners in Education, Education Summit, OASIS, not to mention the Chamber’s strong advocacy for the Teachers’ Executive Institute and key issues facing education including funding, facilities and policy implementation.       

“This is quite an honor that speaks volumes for the support that our staff, leaders and members give to our school system, and every Oasis member deserves a piece of this recognition,” said Susanne Sartelle, president of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce.

DSM Pharmaceuticals, a member of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce was also honored at the ceremony receiving the Corporate/Business Volunteer of the Year Award.
